What's Ahead
You’ve got a problem at home, maybe it’s a leaky faucet, a dead circuit, or a furnace that won’t kick on, and you’re trying to figure out who to call. Eco Plumbers, Electricians, and HVAC Technicians handle the vast majority of what breaks, wears out, or needs upgrading in a home, but we’re honest about the handful of things that fall outside our scope of work, too.
We get calls every day from homeowners across Ohio and Kentucky asking some version of the same question: “Do you guys do that?” Sometimes the answer is an easy yes. Sometimes it’s a no, paired with an explanation of why, so you’re not left guessing or waiting on hold for nothing.
As a company built on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, we see a lot of overlap between those three trades, and that’s exactly where our expertise lives. But there are related jobs, like appliance repair, septic tank pumping, and solar panel installation, that require a different license, a different set of tools, or a different specialist entirely.
The Services Eco Handles Every Day
If it involves your home’s plumbing, electrical, heating or cooling systems, there’s a good chance we’re your team. Eco’s three core trades work together under one roof, which means you’re not stuck coordinating three separate contractors for problems that often overlap. But there may still be multiple appointments as we have skilled technicians for each trade.
Here’s a closer look at what falls under each one.
Plumbing
Our plumbing services cover the full range of what keeps water moving safely through your home, including:
- Water heater repair, installation, and maintenance, including tankless water heaters
- Drain cleaning and sewer line repair
- Leak detection and gas line repair
- Repiping services for older or failing pipe systems
- Sump pump installation and downspout drains
- Water treatment and filtration, including water softener installation
- Faucet, fixture, kitchen, and bathroom plumbing
- Frozen pipe repair
Electrical
Our licensed electricians handle:
- Electrical inspections, repairs, and installations
- Panel installation and upgrades
- Generator installation and repair
- EV charger installation
- Lighting, outlets, and switches
- Ceiling fan installation
- Surge protection
Heating and Cooling
Our HVAC technicians take care of:
- Furnace repair, installation, and maintenance
- AC repair, installation, and maintenance, including mini-splits
- Heat pump repair, installation, and maintenance
- Smart thermostat installation
- Duct cleaning
- Humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air filtration
That’s a wide net, and it’s intentional. Problems in your home rarely stay in one lane. A tankless water heater might need a dedicated electrical circuit. A sump pump might need a new outlet. Because our plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians work for the same company, you get one call and one team instead of three separate quotes from three separate companies.
The Services Eco Does Not Provide
Here’s where we’re going to be straightforward with you, because we’d rather tell you upfront than waste your time on a service call we can’t complete.
Appliance Repair
We don’t repair major appliances like dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators, ice makers, pool heaters, fireplaces, or hot tubs. These fall under a separate skill set. If your dishwasher isn’t getting water or draining properly, that could still be a plumbing issue on our end, so it’s worth a call to figure out where the line falls. We’ll always be upfront if what you’re describing sounds like an appliance problem rather than a plumbing, electrical, or HVAC one. And if it is something we can help with, like water lines to the fridge or electrical to a hot tub, we will be sure to let you know.
Septic Tanks
We clean the line running from your home to the septic tank, but we do not pump, service, or replace the septic tank itself or the leach field beyond it. Septic systems are a specialized trade with their own certifications, and getting that work right matters for both your property and local groundwater. The EPA’s homebuyer’s guide to septic systems is a solid resource if you’re trying to understand how your system works and when it needs professional servicing.
Solar Panels
If your only concern is the solar panel system itself, that’s outside our scope. We don’t install, repair, or service solar panels. That said, if you have a separate electrical issue in a home that happens to have solar, our electricians can still help with that part of the job.
Mold Remediation
We’re not a mold remediation company. If a plumbing leak caused mold growth, we can fix the leak, but the cleanup and remediation itself needs a specialist trained specifically in that work. It’s important to note that if the mold growth is significant, our technicians may ask you to have that remediated before we can fix the issue due to health and safety concerns.
Drywall Repair
We may need to cut into drywall to access a pipe, wire, or duct during a repair, but general drywall repair and patching isn’t a service we offer. Once our technician completes the plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work, any drywall patching, texturing, or painting left behind would need a drywall specialist or handyman to finish.
Specialty and Niche Equipment
A few other categories fall outside our standard scope across most of our service area:
- Boiler systems, oil furnaces, hydronic furnaces, geothermal systems, and baseboard or wall heaters (serviced only at our Chillicothe location)
- Tankless boilers, which are outside our scope everywhere, including Chillicothe
- Whole-home fans, due to the structural and drywall work involved
- Portable generators, home security systems, and security cameras
- Garage door openers and indoor lamps, though we’re glad to help if the issue traces back to an outlet, breaker, or your home’s main service line
- Customer-supplied or used HVAC equipment, which we can’t install for safety and warranty reasons
- Testing another company’s completed work
Policy-Based Limitations
A couple of our “no’s” aren’t about the type of work. They’re about who we work with and where. We work directly with homeowners, not general contractors, third-party companies, or property managers booking on someone else’s behalf, and we service specific coverage areas across Ohio and Kentucky. If you’re outside our footprint or calling on behalf of a rental property without the homeowner present, we’ll let you know upfront rather than booking a visit we can’t complete as expected.
What to Know Before You Call Eco
By now, you have a clear answer to the question you came here with. If your home needs plumbing, electrical, heating, or cooling work, Eco is equipped to handle it, and when a request falls outside our scope, like appliance repair, septic service, or solar panels, we’ll tell you honestly instead of booking a visit we can’t complete. That honesty is the whole point of laying all of this out for you.
The core takeaway is simple: knowing the difference upfront saves you a wasted appointment and gets you pointed toward the right specialist faster. You don’t have to guess whether Eco is the right call, and you don’t have to find out the hard way after a technician is already standing in your driveway. If you’re ever unsure, a quick phone call settles it in minutes.
If you’re dealing with a problem that touches more than one system in your home, like a water heater that needs both plumbing and electrical work, or a sump pump that needs a new outlet, we’ve got you covered there too. Keep in mind that a job like this usually means two separate appointments, since our plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians each specialize in their own trade rather than cross-training across all three. We’ll always do our best to line up both visits for the same day, but scheduling can vary since each trade has its own availability. And if you’re still weighing whether Eco is the right company for your home, read real homeowner reviews, the good and the bad to see what it’s actually like to work with our team, straight from the people who’ve already called us.
That’s the approach behind everything Eco does: plumbers, electricians, and HVAC technicians working together under one roof, backed by upfront pricing and a team that would rather tell you the truth than tell you what you want to hear.
FAQs
What happens if a technician shows up and the job turns out to be outside Eco's scope?
We'll always be upfront with you as soon as we can tell, whether that's over the phone or once a technician is on-site and gets a closer look. We'd rather have that conversation early than leave you waiting on work we can't complete, and we'll explain exactly why the job falls outside what we do.
Can Eco point me to a company that handles what you don't?
We don't make outside referrals, since we can't personally vouch for another company's work. The best move is to search for a reputable, highly rated local specialist in that particular trade, like an appliance repair technician or a septic service company.
How do you figure out if my issue is plumbing-related or an appliance problem?
Some calls are genuinely hard to sort out over the phone, especially with things like dishwashers or washing machines that connect to your plumbing. In those cases, we'll set expectations upfront that a technician may need to see it in person before confirming whether it's something we can fix.
What if my problem involves more than one issue, like a leaking appliance in an older home?
We'll handle the part that falls under plumbing, electrical, or HVAC, like capping a water line or fixing a connected outlet, even if the appliance itself needs a different specialist. Your technician will walk you through exactly where our work starts and stops.
Do you offer same-day service for the trades you do cover?
Availability depends on your location and the day's schedule, but we know plumbing, electrical, and HVAC problems don't wait for a convenient time. The fastest way to find out what's available is to call and ask about your specific situation.
Will I be charged just to find out if Eco can take on my job?
That depends on the type of call and whether a technician needs to visit your home to diagnose it. Our team will always explain any costs involved before a visit is booked, so there are no surprises. We do not have a dispatch fee to come out to your home to look at your issue. If the technician has to take a closer look and diagnose an issue, they will provide you with upfront pricing for how much that diagnostic will cost while they are there.
